5. Catering (optional)

Written by Paula Straume

In this stage, you can add catering related to your venue. Adding catering is not required, but it makes your venue significantly more attractive to clients.

💡 Good to know: if your venue does not offer catering itself but works closely with a catering company or a nearby restaurant, and you have established set menu packages that you offer to clients, then it still makes sense to add these catering options to Venueplace – this way, the client can conveniently book both the space and the catering in one place.

PS! Each catering type should be added separately (e.g. coffee break, lunch buffet, dinner, etc.). We recommend adding larger "menu sets" (as mentioned in the previous sentence) rather than each dish separately (i.e. potatoes, bread, white bread, rice, butter, etc.) – but ultimately, of course, this depends on your venue's menu selection and how you have arranged catering with clients so far.

1. Add the catering name and description

In the description, explain:

  • What this catering is best suited for

  • What it includes

For example, a coffee break might include coffee, tea, flavored water, sweet pastries, and fresh fruit.

2. Add photos of the catering

Photos help the client better imagine the catering on offer. We recommend adding:

  • A photo of the coffee or food table (or of some dishes individually)

  • A photo of the menu

3. Set the number of servings

In the capacity stage, write down:

  • The minimum number of servings

  • The maximum number of servings (not required)

For example:

  • Minimum quantity 15 servings

  • Maximum quantity 120 servings

This helps avoid orders that cannot be fulfilled.

4. Add pricing

Set the base or unit price of the catering, for example €6 per serving. As a reminder, all prices must be entered into Venueplace including VAT. If you wish, you can add special prices for specific dates, days of the week, or times of day. You can always change or remove special prices later.

5. Save the catering and add more menu options if needed

Once the catering has been added, you will immediately see it in your list along with its capacity and pricing.

If you offer other catering options, click "Add more" and repeat the steps.

If there is no more catering to add, click "Continue" and move on to the next step
